Electronic travel log

One of the core functions of Vetronics units is the recording of vehicle’s position in time, based on GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) signal reception. We use either American GPS or Russian GLONASS. With this information we can display and record vehicle location in time using the Webdispatching online map, as well as automatically generate vehicle’s travel log.

Fuel level and consumption

Modern vehicles are fitted with CAN buffer that the Vetronics unit may be attached to. That enables us to monitor fuel consumption and, most importantly, fuel level in vehicle tank. Whenever a sudden level decrease is detected, we can assume some unauthorized manipulation occurred. This is the favourite function of freight transport businesses.

Driving style

Data recorded by Vetronics unit using an accelerometer and other detectors can be analysed to determine each driver’s driving style. Rough driving style might influence vehicle wear and tear or even put the driver and the vehicle in danger. The possibility of driving style evaluation enables you to incentivise your drivers to drive carefully.

Connection to on-board navigation

Garmin or Dynavix on-board navigation units may connect these units to Vetronics. They will not only get the possibility to view vehicle position, but also the journey’s destination and time to the destination. The connection also allows you to change navigation destination remotely via the Webdispatching application. It is also possible for a dispatcher and a driver to communicate via short text messages, that are created and displayed on navigation screen or Webdispatching service.

FMS statistics

FMS is an interface for reading vehicle performance information as are e.g. recording mileage information, speed, revolutions per minute, etc. It is possible to monitor a lot of various data. You might want to study our complete listing here. The information is important for fleet management and maintenance and inform about driving styles as well as crew working capacity.

Reading driver status from tachograph

This feature allows you to see tachograph recordings online. Besides identifying the driver according to inserted card, it allows you to monitor his working capacity and driving time limits (AETR). The unit will also inform the dispatcher about exceeding driver’s driving limits.
